The next meeting for Young Observers will be on Saturday 1st April. Split times apply, so for the juniors (Nebulae) we will start at 6:30pm - 7:15pm (30 minute gap). The older juniors (Supernovae) will run from 7:45pm - 9pm.
Young Observers is exclusive to Members Only. Please bring a plate of food along to share. The nights are also getting darker and colder, so please remember to dress appropriately for the cooler temperatures at night on the mountain, and bring your own small RED torch to help you find your way around outside at the telescopes in the dark. This is easy to make by securing a red balloon over a small LED torch, or painting the top of the torch with red nail varnish. Please do not use cellophane – it tears, fades and just doesn’t do the job.
If the weather is fine, Deep Sky Section will be following on from our session this month, so if you are not planning to stay it would be best if you parked along the driveway, to minimise disturbance from your headlights when you leave.
Advance notice: The next Young Observers is 29th April. There is no Young Observers night in May because of the Vastroc Conference. Dates will return to the regular first Saturday of the month from June.
See you then!

Please consider the neighbours and drive in and out quietly using low beam only, or better still, parking lights.
Please note: MBO will always be closed on days of Severe, Extreme and Code Red fire ratings, and on days of Total Fire Ban. Please see the CFA website for up-to-date information.
