Dear radio astro fans,
On Sunday 11th February we had a good mornings work on the 21cm neutral hydrogen line receiver and dishes, narrowing down the intermittent noisy fault on the 'B' channel of the receiver and making progress on how to focus the dishes using a signal generator. We also started discussing how we might motorise the dishes, and looked for existing surveys of the sky at 21cm to find a good location to point them at for a static "drift" survey in the meantime.
We aim to have an impromptu second meeting in February at 10am on Sunday 25th February to spend an hour or two trying to resolve this intermittent crackle on the receiver now we've got a good idea of what is wrong.
All the best!
