Tuesday 3rd March 2015 - Public Viewing Night - FULLY BOOKED!

Have you been waiting for a chance to have a personal tour of the observatory, and see the big telescope in action? Would you really like to have a go and finding the stars yourself using our portable Dobsonian telescopes? Let us show you Mt. Burnett Observatory and the wonders of the night sky. Public Viewing sessions are for non-members who'd like to get a taste of what we do! Come along and be amazed!

The session will start at 8pm and bookings are essential - numbers are strictly limited so that everyone can get some hands on experience. The cost is $10 per adult and $5 per child. (Please note, we will cancel the session if the weather is not being friendly).

Public Viewing Night Full!

Wow, you Astrofans are a keen bunch! Our Public Viewing Night for March 3rd filled up in two days of being announced. But don't panic, there will be another one shortly after Easter (we haven't worked out a date yet). We're happy to take names for our waiting list and you will be given first priority at the next session too - just e-mail  This email address is being protected from spambots. For those of you who will be coming, keep an eye on Facebook and your e-mail. The weather can sometimes be tricksy, and we will contact you if we have to cancel. Remember also to bring your warm clothes - the nighttime temperatures can be equally tricksy!

Please note: MBO will always be closed on days of Severe, Extreme and Code Red fire ratings, please see the CFA website for that information.
