Friday 5th October 2018 - Sky For The Month with Perry Vlahos

8pm Friday 5th October is our first members night for October and so Perry Vlahos returns to give us his round up of what's coming up in the October nights sky!

The opportunities to observe all eight planets in one evening is a seldom seen cosmic experience, but one is coming this month, and Perry will be at MBO this Friday night to tell us when and where to look! Six of the planets will be naked eye, which is a wonderful phenomenon on its own, but with the use of MBO telescopes you'll also be able to observe Uranus and Neptune, to complete the whole set. No brains will be harmed with difficult mathematical formulae, or unexplained jargon, in this always entertaining and fully illustrated presentation. It's a perfect experience for those new to astronomy and when you throw in a delicious free supper, plus viewing through MBO telescopes at the presentation's end, it's heaps better than another night in front of a screen!

Members' Night is on every Friday night. Guests of members are always welcome. Contributions of food to share for supper are always gratefully received and demolished! :-)

Please consider the neighbours and drive in and out quietly using low beam only, or better still, parking lights.

Please note: MBO will always be closed on days of Severe, Extreme and Code Red fire ratings, please see the CFA website for up-to-date information.
