Friday 21st September 2018 - Jacquie Milner - Beginners Night: The Naked-Eye Sky

8pm this Friday 21st September we have Jacquie Milner with the next in our series of beginners nights, this time being "The Naked-Eye Sky".

The words “astronomy” and “telescope” are often used together, but there is a lot of astronomy you can do without a telescope. Let’s take the opportunity to look at some of the recurring things you can see in the sky just by looking up during the year, and all the jargon that goes with it, of course. This doesn’t mean you need to ditch your telescope, though. Not at all! But you might be surprised how often you can find yourself doing astronomy without any effort.

Members' Night is on every Friday night. Guests of members are always welcome. Contributions of food to share for supper are always gratefully received and demolished! :-)

Please consider the neighbours and drive in and out quietly using low beam only, or better still, parking lights.

Please note: MBO will always be closed on days of Severe, Extreme and Code Red fire ratings, please see the CFA website for up-to-date information.

For weather information please see our useful links.
