Friday 15th June 2018 - Jacquie Milner - Beginners Night: Mars at Opposition

8pm Friday 15th June 2018 we have our very own Jacquie Milner giving another in her series of beginners talks, this one on "Mars at Opposition":

The red planet is a destination close to our hearts and minds, but it only comes close enough to get a decent view of it once every two years. Even then, some oppositions are better than others, and during late July Mars will be the closest is has been since 2003. So what features can be seen from Earth with our amateur telescopes? Or will a growing Martian dust storm wipe the whole lot out? Find out on Friday at our next Beginners Night!

Members' Night is on every Friday night commencing at 8PM sharp (doors open 7:30PM). Guests of members are always welcome. Contributions of food to share for supper are always gratefully received and demolished! :-)

Please consider the neighbours and drive in and out quietly using low beam only, or better still, parking lights.

Please note: MBO will always be closed on days of Severe, Extreme and Code Red fire ratings, please see the CFA website for up-to-date information.
