At 8pm this coming Friday 6th April we have Perry Vlahos for our members night talking to us about the coming months night sky.
Following many months without any planets in the evening sky, with the end of Daylight Saving Time we also have the three best planets coming into view and this Friday night. Perry Vlahos will be telling us how to go about finding and observing them in the April sky. Jupiter is the first to rise and it's over the horizon by 8pm and ready for eyes and telescopes to be trained on it. It's followed by both the stunning Saturn and it's rings and Mars getting ever closer and brighter, both of them well and truly risen over the horizon before 11pm. If you'd love to be able to identify the planets amongst all the other stars in the sky and point them out to family and friends, then don't miss this presentation on Members' Night this Friday, starting at 8pm. Supper follows the talk and then viewing through MBO telescopes (weather permitting).
Members' Night is on every Friday night commencing at 8PM sharp (doors open 7:30PM). Guests of members are always welcome. Contributions of food to share for supper are always gratefully received and demolished! :-)
Please consider the neighbours and drive in and out quietly using low beam only, or better still, parking lights.
Please note: MBO will always be closed on days of Severe, Extreme and Code Red fire ratings, please see the CFA website for up-to-date information.
