8pm Friday 30th March we have Perry Vlahos with an Easter special!
The MBO has always traditionally remained open for Members' Night on Good Friday and this year will be no exception. Apart from the Easter Bunny dropping off a bunch of chocolate eggs and other fine tasting goodies for the membership, Perry Vlahos will be giving a talk on the most often observed astronomical phenomenon - the moon, because there's still a whole lot to divulge about it that isn't ordinarily known. For example, how is the moon responsible for Easter? Is there really extra admissions to hospitals and call-outs for police when it's full? And how did it save the lives of Christopher Columbus and his men? All this plus much, much more will be explained in an always entertaining presentation where no brains will be harmed in the process. Following the talk there will be a delicious supper and viewing through MBO telescopes.
Members' Night is on every Friday night commencing at 8PM sharp (doors open 7:30PM). Guests of members are always welcome. If you have a telescope and would like to know how to use it, or alternatively, would like to show it off to us, please bring it along.
Please consider the neighbours and drive in and out quietly using low beam only, or better still, parking lights.
Please note: MBO will always be closed on days of Severe, Extreme and Code Red fire ratings, please see the CFA website for up-to-date information.
